Like
any other country, some baggage rules are applicable in Malaysia too.
Most of the restrictions are general and people, who travel frequently
around the world, would find nothing exceptional in baggage rules for
Malaysia. Regarding baggage allowance, you must contact the requisite
airlines department to confirm the weight or piece system for checked
luggage. For hand baggage, there are certain conditions which must be
fulfilled before boarding the flight. Here are given certain tips that
would help you to ascertain baggage formalities.
Usually economy class passengers are allowed to check-in 20 kgs
of luggage, whereas business class passengers are allowed up to 30
kgs. And First class passengers can take checked luggage up to 40
kgs.
In case your luggage exceeds the provided weight limits, you have
to pay additional charges. This too, varies from the point of
departure and destination.
As regards carry-on allowance, for each class one piece of up to
5 kgs of hand baggage is allowed.
Hand baggage must not contain any kinds of liquids, gels or
aerosols, in case you have then it should be not more than 100 ml
per item.
Besides one piece of hand baggage, passengers are allowed to take
laptops, handbags, crutches, reading material, overcoat or blanket,
infant carry cot and walking stick in the airplane.
For carrying pets, sports equipments, musical instruments,
archery equipments, bicycles or any other equipment, you need to
check with the airlines department.
If any infant would be traveling with you, confirm with the
airlines department about the amenities they provide for infants.
