Chinatown
in Kuala Lumpur is located in the Petaling Street. It is called as
Chi-Chong-Kai by the local Chinese. The area is known as the Petaling
Street because the track from here led to the mines in the Petaling area
some 17km away. Petaling Street maintains much of its traditional
atmosphere, especially at night when vendors spread their wares out on
the street. Chinatown market is famous for its pirated goods. You can
buy pirated CDs, DVDs, copy watches, (Rolex, Gucci, Cartier, Breitling
etc.), T-shirts (Nike, Reebok, Billabong, Quicksilver etc.), garments,
leather goods, jewelry and much more. If you are not interested in
shopping you can enjoy the bustling place by merely wandering and
loitering in the area.
